I am into my 4th week of a rigorous exercise program. So far, I haven't noticed much weight loss. Will it accelerate once I build up some muscles, say by the 6th week? And then afterwards, does it plateau?

I have a one yr old baby and want to lose about 25 lbs. What is the best exercise for weight loss? I have the P90X but can't get around to trying it. Also, I want to buy a treadmill since I don't exactly have all the time in the world to go to a gym. I work full time and have a 1 1/2 hour commute each way.
